UK photographer John Davies has been shortlisted for the prestigious £30,000 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2008.
John is joined by Danish photographer Jacob Holdt, Esko Männikö from Finland and Fazal Sheikh from the United States.
The annual award is designed to reward a photographer who has made the most significant contribution to the medium in Europe between 1 October 2006-30 September 2007.
John was nominated for his panoramic b&w photos documenting the changing post-industrial British landscape.
His pictures went on show at The National Media Museum, in an exhibition called The British Landscape.
The winner of the award will be announced on 5 March 2008 at The Photographers? Gallery in London.
