Polaroid has today stated that the camera on display at last week’s CES show in Las Vegas was a working ‘US model’ and not a ‘prototype’ as it had previously suggested.

As we reported last week, the camera’s on-board printer uses the same ZINC printing technology as featured in the standalone Polaroid PoGo printer launched last year. Like the printer, the camera delivers 2x3in prints.

Dubbed the ‘Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera’, it had initially been due for launch before Christmas.

It is now expected in shops in the ‘second quarter’ of this year.

Polaroid has told Amateur Photographer magazine that it is also working on plans to launch a camera that delivers prints that measure the same size as the film camera that made it famous.
