Pentax Japan has used Photokina to officially announced a new 10.2-million-pixel digital SLR called the Pentax K-m.

Features on board the entry-level camera include dust removal, a top equivalent ISO of 3200 and a maximum burst rate of 3.5 frames per second.

The newcomer sports a 2.7in (230,000 dots) screen, a 5-point AF system, plus shake reduction.

Also showcased are new lenses: the Pentax -DA L 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL; and 50-200mm f/4-5.6ED.

Pentax has also revealed the DA* 60-250mm f/4 ED [IF] SDM and DA* 55mm f/1.4 SDM optics.

There is no word as yet on UK availability or pricing.
