Panasonic has today used Photokina as the launchpad for the diminutive DMC-GM5, a key feature of which is a built-in EVF.
The first camera in the series, the GM1 launched last year, did not come with an electronic viewfinder.
‘Those products with built-in EVF seemed to have captured people’s imagination,’ said Panasonic UK’s head of imaging Barnaby Sykes in an interview with AP last month.
Built around an magnesium-alloy chassis the GM5 will not be sold body only, but in a kit with a 12-32mm lens priced £769, for example. The GM5 is due out in November.
