American rap star Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to charges linked to an alleged clash with a paparazzi photographer, according to reports.

West, 31, was charged with vandalism, assault and theft after the altercation at a Los Angeles airport last year.

He is accused of smashing the photographer’s camera – breaking the flash – during the alleged incident on 11 September.

West was not in court to enter his plea.

Earlier this year West made a pledge to be more pleasant to paparazzi photographers.

Last November, the rapper was involved in an altercation with UK freelance photographer Terry Blackburn outside a Newcastle nightclub.
