Panasonic’s first digital SLR, the Lumix DMC-L1, will not go on sale in the UK until September, the company’s UK office has told AP this morning.

A UK spokesperson told us: Pricing is still to be decided… However, I can confirm that the DMC-L1 will be available in the UK in September. We will sell the L1 as a kit first, and we are now studying if we should sell the lens separately.’

As we reported yesterday, the 7.5 million pixel Four Thirds camera will be launched in Japan on 22 July, with a new Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm f/2.8-3.5 ASPH lens.
