Six photographs of nude supermodel Kate Moss – printed from ?daguerreotypes? – are expected to fetch up to £20,000 at a Christie?s auction in London on 31 May.
The portraits were captured by US photographer Chuck Close who said: ?She wore no makeup; she hadn?t combed her hair and she never even glanced in the mirror.?
After the shoot ? for a 2003 issue of an American fashion magazine – the model reportedly told him: ?I?ve had enough pretty pictures made of me?.
The photographs will join other portraits of Moss captured by Corinne Day. These include a 1990 portrait of Moss entitled ?Kate taken in Croydon?, signed by the model and photographer and expected to go under the hammer for up to £6,000.
?Kate Moss is a cultural icon and arguably the most influential model of our day,? said Yuka Yamaji, the head of Photographs at Christie?s in London.
Images of the model by Albert Watson and Irving Penn will also be available at the Photographs sale which takes place on 31 May at Christie?s, 8 King Street, London SW1Y 6QT.
It starts at 2.30pm.
