Nikon UK has issued a statement in response to reports that its D800 DSLR faces a production shortage, as demand exceeds expectations.

A Nikon UK spokesperson told Amateur Photographer that supply shortages will not affect the UK market.

?We will be working to supply the D800 to customers as quickly as possible when it goes on sale on 22 March,? she said.

The issue was highlighted in a statement that appeared on the website of Nikon Japan.

Priced around £2,400, the FX-format (full-frame) 36.3-million-pixel DSLR uses the D4’s 91,000 pixel RGB metering sensor, Expeed 3 image processor and MultiCAM 3500FX AF system.
