London Imaging Live was to have been the second photo show to take place in March 2014, following the axing of the annual Birmingham-based Focus on Imaging event which traditionally took place in the same month.

London Imaging Live will now take place after the biennial trade show Photokina, which runs from 16-21 September 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

AP understands that organisers decided to move London Imaging Live to mid-late October 2014 to allow a ‘more staggered’ calendar of photo events for next year.

Aimed at professional photographers and enthusiasts, London Imaging Live 2014 is billed as a not-for-profit showcase for ‘the entire imaging industry’ by its organisers, Life Media Group, the publisher of trade magazine Pixel.

Organisers say they still hope to stage the event at the ExCel centre in east London.

A spokesman said: ‘This event will still take place in the capital and will offer a program of events, including “hands-on” opportunities with exceptional, dynamic, exhibits – which we will be laying on in association with arts-based charities and other organisations.’

Experts are set to offer ‘technical, artistic and real-world advice on how to progress in your chosen field, gain commissions and build a career’.

Meanwhile, a separate event, called ‘The Photography Show’, is still on course to take place in Birmingham from 1-4 March 2014.

As we reported in June, The Photography Show is aimed at amateurs, professionals and retailers. It is being organised by Future Publishing.
