Leica Fotopark offers 10GB free photo storage
November 24, 2014
First announced earlier this year – and now officially launched – Leica Fotopark is designed to allow users to showcase their work and organise their portfolio.
Images can be imported using Dropbox or via the Fotopark iOS app, for example. Photographers can also order fine-art quality prints and frames, as well as ‘discover new photographers and their work’.
Basic membership, providing 10GB of storage space, is free, while ‘premium’ members can store up to 100GB of photos, for €10 per month.
‘Become a part of the unique Fotopark community and let yourself be inspired,’ states the German company.
‘Leica Fotopark is aimed at everyone who sees more in a picture than just a simple image of a moment in time.
‘Even now, numerous acclaimed and prominent contemporary photographers acknowledge Leica Fotopark and their love of the perfect picture.’
Leica claims its European servers offer maximum security against data loss and unauthorised access by third parties.
In the past few weeks, Leica has struck partnerships with UK retailers Jessops and Park Cameras, enabling these stores to sell Leica products in a move aimed at widening Leica’s audience in the photography enthusiast market.
Park Cameras, which has stores in London and Burgess Hill, West Sussex, said the move followed calls from customers.
