Eastman Kodak has refused, on legal grounds, to comment on reports it has been offered more than $500m for imaging patents it put up for auction.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) yesterday reported that a ‘consortium of bidders’ has offered to buy the patents, adding that the deal has yet to be finalised.

It is not clear how many of Kodak’s patents the reported deal relates to.

Asked to comment on the WSJ article, Eastman Kodak spokesman Christopher Veronda told Amateur Photographer: ‘Throughout the patent auction process, Kodak is bound by court confidentiality requirements not to say anything.’
