Japan?s product supply chain will not get back to normal until the autumn, the country?s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has said.
A government survey of Japanese industry found that around 60% of Japan?s major manufacturers hit by the 11 March earthquake and tsunami resumed operations by 25 April.
However, 30% said they will not be able to restart operations until July, reports Japanese trade publication Pen News Weekly.
?And some 70% of the manufacturers surveyed have found other suppliers for components and materials, but only 40% said they can secure enough amount by July.
?Thus the recovery to normal operation of the supply chain will be delayed until the autumn,? adds Pen.
