Last year, dozens of amateur and professional photographers won awards for images captured using Apple iPhones, iPads and iPods.

This year’s overall winner will bag an iPad Pro and the top three Photographers of the Year will each win an Apple Watch.

The categories are: animals, abstract, architecture, children, flowers, food, landscape, lifestyle, nature, news/events, panorama, people, portrait, seasons, still-life, sunset, travel, trees and others.

Rules allow use of any iPhone or iPad apps, and add-on lenses for iPhone.

However, conditions stipulate that entries must not be altered using Photoshop or any desktop image processing programme.

In some cases, organisers may ask entrants to verify that the image has been taken using an iPhone, iPad or iPod.

The deadline for entries is 31 March 2016.
