Hasselblad has today released the first official picture of the H4D-40, a professional medium format digital SLR poised to compete against the Leica S2.

The H4D-40 features a 40-million-pixel CCD imaging sensor, measuring 33x44mm.

As we reported on Tuesday, Hasselblad says it is targeting the H4D-40 at ‘high-end 35mm professionals’.

Meanwhile, Leica has today refused to comment on suggestions in the press that the H4D-40 poses a threat to the Leica S2.
