The TV news channel is seeking still images and video of photographers’ Halloween celebrations.

The channel says the best submissions will be included in a photo gallery, published on social networking websites, and shown as part of its TV broadcasts in the UK and the US.

A CNN spokesman told AP: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for photographers and photo enthusiasts to potentially have their work shown as part of coverage on a major news network.’

Subjects could range from the whole family dressed in matching costumes, to their home transformed into a ‘haunted mansion’.

Asked what rights contributors have over their pictures, once submitted to the project, the CNN spokesman replied: ‘Contributors retain rights to any photographs used, across all CNN platforms and will be individually credited alongside their pictures.’
