Canon has unveiled the PowerShot S5 IS and Digital IXUS 950 IS – both 8-million-pixel models – plus a pair of new compact printers.
Out in ?early June? priced £409, the PowerShot S5 IS (pictured) features a 12x optical zoom, Face Detection Technology and an optical Image Stabiliser (IS).
Armoury includes ISO sensitivity ranging from ISO 80-1600 and a ?vari-angle? 2.5in LCD (207,000 pixel) screen.
The 22 shooting modes include aperture and shutter priority and full manual control, while the f/2.7 zoom boasts the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 36-432mm lens.
Face Detection aims to optimise focus, exposure and flash output for people shots.

Due out at the end of this month is the Digital IXUS 950 IS, which also comes with Face Detection Technology and a top ISO of 1600.
Billed as an upgraded version of the Digital IXUS 800 IS it features optical Image Stabiliser and 18 shooting modes.
Also on board is a time-lapse movie mode and 2.5in (230,000) pixel ?PureColor? LCD monitor claimed to show colour tones enhanced by 30% for ?vibrant, true-to-life? reproduction.
The IXUS 950 IS comes with a £329 pricetag and a zoom delivering the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 35-140mm lens.

Meanwhile, Canon this month debuts two new additions to its Selphy CP family of portable dye-sublimation printers which adds automatic red-eye correction to the range.
The £139 Selphy CP750 (2.4in screen) and £79 Selphy CP740 (2in screen) are designed to replace the CP730 and CP720 models respectively.
The CP750 is designed to be capable of printing from mobile devices using infra-red communication.
