In a double blow to UK consumers the price of all Canon products will rise by around 10% from 1 February – the firm?s second price hike this year.

Canon UK today pledged to monitor currency rate fluctuations on a ‘monthly’ basis.

Earlier this month Canon increased prices of some products as a result of the rising value of the Japanese yen against the Euro.

A Canon UK spokeswoman today confirmed that plans to raise prices further were sparked by the falling value of the ‘pound’ against the Euro.

She said the move would apply to products ?across the board’, bringing Canon UK’s prices ?in-line with the European pricing model?.

Photo dealers were informed of the imminent increase on 19 January.
