A Canon EOS 500D digital SLR camera kit, worth more than £1,500, is up for grabs in a motor racing photo competition organised by Amateur Photographer and sponsored by Cartridge World.

Organisers are looking for action shots of the Cartridge World-sponsored race cars in the ?cut and thrust? of this year?s touring car races; or shots of drivers, who will be available to the public during the scheduled ?pit lane walkabout? at each race.

The winner will bag a Canon EOS 500D, an EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and a Speedlite 270EX flashgun, in total worth £1,549.

Two runners-up will each bag a Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS compact camera worth £260.

The images must have been captured at a British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race, which has ten rounds in England and Scotland. There are three BTCC races per round, giving readers? ample opportunity to experiment with different vantage points.

Readers’ entries will appear on the Gallery page of our website and will be announced in the magazine no later than 31 October 2009.

The closing date is 9 October.

Entries should be uploaded via the AP website at https://amateurphotographer.co.uk/competitions/5495
