**FROM** YaaaaaHhhooo -to- It is with a heavy heart that I have to ...

I purchased a second (2nd) K200D w/ grip this (Thursday Feb 19) afteroon and I say "heavy heart" because it over four (4) years ago that I wrote this original post (in the following quote) for my IST*Ds and I placed it in my locker at work with about 88.5K shots on it :( :(
But the IST*Ds has not been officially retired it is just taking a break :)

    Cheers,

    Jack

Re: **FROM** YaaaaaHhhooo -to- It is with a heavy heart that I have to

    Hi David,

I got the second (2nd) body just because my very old IST*Ds was getting sore and tired plus
I was favouring my K200D (10mp) over the IST*Ds (6mp) and was changing lenses more often
than I wanted to  So it's the DA 12-24 on the new K200D body and the DA 50-135 on
    my old(er) K200D :D

    Cheers,

    Jack

What, may I ask, is the second one. Too abstract for me to see what it was. The close crop of the first one works well.

It's fire fighters David. It's their fire helmets and day-glow strips you can see in the dark. :)

It is amazing, now that I know, I can see the shapes of the three firemen. But before it had no form at all. Isn't the brain wonderful, just a hint and its there! :D

    Hello jack,

I wonder if you could make a careful selection around the sitters glasses etc and clone away the horizontal window bar. I think that would add greatly to this image. What do you think?

Not for me. You need to just clone out the window bar and leave the grey background Jack... :)

Yes, I agree with that. You should now be able to use the quick selection tool to select the white and change the hue to grey.

Took the liberty, hope you dont mind. I will delete it when you have seen it.

    David. :)

Re: **FROM** YaaaaaHhhooo -to- // gary - david

    Hi David and Gary,

Nope, I don't mind at all, David, although, personally, I think the "grey"
you have chosen looks a little dark .........but, then, that could just be
the monitor at work as well

And, I agree, that, in hindsight, my changing of the background was "way too
    light" :(

    Cheers,

    Jack

Re: **FROM** YaaaaaHhhooo -to- // gary - david

I made the selection using the magic wand clicking on the white space. I then modified the selection by expanding it one pixel. next I chose IMAGE / MODIFY / CHANGE COLOUR and changed the brightness slider. You can select any shade of grey to suit.

I used a soft brush setting, small size with the clone tool and just tidied up the edge interface to remove any white pixels that were left behind.

It is definitely an image worthy of working on and I am sure you could add some darker or lighter areas to the background with a soft brush to make it less hard.

    Nice one.

I will delete it now that you have seen it, as it is on my Flickr site and it isn't mine! :)
