Need an excuse to post some pics from near home? Maybe you have a pic or two that show what you like about where you are? I don't mind if they're new shots or old shots....just try and keep them vaguely connected to the theme :D

I live in a pretty boring commuter town south of Edinburgh but it gives me easy access to hills:

There's plenty trees down in the nearby valley but I don't have to go too far to find hills with trees on them....
...and the odd top notch bike trail thrown in for good measure

Would be nice to see what part of the world others live in :)

    I will join you Andy...

Here is one of Teignmouth beach at night, posted before, but still worth sharing.

Winter sunrise - On my way to work. Teignmouth in the foreground, the River Teign with low clouds plus Shaldon and the Ness.

    Chelmsford? Scenic? Hmmmm.....

For some reason my adopted Essex home town always makes me think of this kind of view:

Although we do have some nice buildings:

I guess I need to get out more & look for the beautiful side in things...
I'll post some more later if that's ok.

You don't have to look for the beautiful side if you don't want to but if you want to use this as an excuse to go for a wander and take some pics that's fine by me :)

Quite like the gas tower thingy tho....reminds me of Dunbar.

Posting pics on a photography forum? Yup, I think I can live with that too :D

Last seen here as a shot for Firstview in May 2007 this is the small market town of Wantage where I live

But my favourite place in the area is this one just 5 minutes drive away

which is overlooked by the ancient chalk carving of the Uffington White Horse

Thaks Fen. I've created a Flickr group with local interest pictures which does give a truer flavour of the area.

    Honor Oak South London

Posted as my first ever 'First View' I think, taken from the top of the hill about 300yds from my front door.
Good views of the City and Docklands, lots of open spaces round here and only 15min from London Bridge on the train. I like it here in 'Rural London'.

    One Tree Hill Honor Oak.

Somewhere between the two. Nearest tube is Dollis Hill. It's an "interesting" area..... not seen any wolves though
