Haha. I’m not totally sure why we have that big hole in the wall or when it was made. The house was built in 1777 but I doubt it was there at that time. We have contemplated having it bricked up but the lounge (from where I took the photo) is a dark room so that hole provides light from the other room and would be too dark without it I think.
The Flintstones are sooo last ice age.
Brick it up and use your dark room as a darkroom.
I do have a basement room that I could use as a darkroom. For the amount of use it would get it would be a waste. Anyway, the basement room is my preppers room.

Light is a very useful thing to have and that big hole is very picturesque
