A good man named George just told the PDML:

I got an email from Ed Hamrick this morning. He's incorporated the latest
dcraw code into Vuescan and it now reads Pentax Raw files.

I spent about 20 minutes playing with it and it seems to work fine. I only
had one obvious problem. In the "open file" dialog box, the "pef"
extension isn't in the file type pull down list, so you have to type it
yourself on the "filename" line. As quick as Ed turns things around, I'm
sure this will be fixed soon.

This is by no means a review, as I said, I only played with it for a few
minutes. I can say this, it's another option for file conversion and it
seems to work fine. After conversion I opened the files in Picture Window
Pro and did additional color correction and sharpening. My first
impression is that I have a lot more control over the process and the final
result on the ONE SHORT TEST turned out well.

No final option here, I have a lot of experimenting to do.
