It’s gone mad in our garden, it is going to make replacing the fence a right pain. The other thing we’ve got is moss. Lots of moss. Lots and lots of moss. A whole business has grown up, “want the moss cleaned of your roof guv?”. Both due to reduction in acidification over the years.

You are right. I signed up for online access at my library, logged out and discovered I needed my library card number to login again. Found it (not been used for a decade) logged in OK. Then went to OED site and logged in via the library tab. Perfect! Absolutely amazed they pay for it in these straitened times.

I'm just happy to have given you a little ray of sunshine* in these dark times.

The correct name for a conifer "flower". [I knew they weren't actually flowers.]

    It's "strobilus".

Is this the flower you mean? I'm genuinely curious.

Damn my dyslexia, I read "conifer" as "cornflower". Wondered why there was a photo of a conifer strobilus. Yes, I did know.

I guess I'll be learning how to fix dropper post seals this week too.

Other cyclists to put their names to bikes are Chris Boardman (I've got two of his), Sir Bradley Wiggins and Victoria Pendleton.
