I have been playing with cameras for well over 25 years, from pinhole, 35mm, TLR and MF. Currently my kit consists of a 5 mp Nikon prosumer, Bronica 67 and a Contax 2 still in working order. I have been pondering on moving to DSLR mainly for macro and wildlife.
I have been reviewing some options and narrowed it down to 4 choices. My options would be based on lens and image quality, availability of extra kit and lastly cost. Budget is 1200.
Anyhow I am asking for some help in moving over the final try line!

    Options: Panasonic DMC-L1, Canon 30d, Olympus E510, Pentax K10d

Although some love them, I'm dubious over the image quality on the 4/3rds slrs. From experience, and for versatility I'd go for the Pentax. You may however feel that the wider range of lenses, especially in the telephoto range, puts the Canon in front for the wildlife requirement.
