    I like the mix.

Giving away my age, but I wish you could find one with velvet above it. Ha!

1962 for you - 1967 for mine. You must have missed the rebel time.

I was just about converting to C&W about then. Johnny Cash, Hank Locklin, George Hamilton 4, Willie Nelson, Chet Atkins, saw them all.

I am playing Heroin by The Velvet Underground now.

Venus in Furs is a great song.

Right. I thought rather than underground and heavy metal, banging my head on the wall was much easier. The C&W scene in London folded, so I followed Creedence Clearwater, then some parts of Glam Rock - TRex, Steve Harley, Slade, and then moved on to Status Quo, New Wave, Blondie, Cindy Lauper, then Dire Straits, avoiding anything to do with Punk.

Nothing since Mark Knopfler has prompted me to pay money to see/hear it.

The sign: "All great movements begin underground" is grievously misleading. Surely it ought to read, "All great movements end underground."

Well they did for me at Old Street right after that shot. I was nabbed, told a load of BS about "rules" and invited to leave.

I wondered if that might happen. It happened to me in a deserted newcastle-upon-0Tyne station. I shot a couple as we waited before an officious guard materialised and told me off. Pathetic!

Indeed. I told them so in no uncertain terms, but they are not paid to think and I accept that. I wouldn't if I were them. I had a bit of a go when they said my little PenF with a tiny 45mm lens looked like a professional camera - I use it in places like that because no-one mistakes it for a professional camera. :)

An all too predictable tale of authoritarianism by an ever-growing cadre of 'jobsworths'. My advice: Carry on as usual.

So it would be OK if you had used your phone? The logic escapes me.

And me and them. They had no answer to that.
