I was in the water meadows the other day taking a few photos with my phone (Samsung A71) and I thought to myself, "I wonder if the camera in the phone has an IR blocker built-in?" So today I just dug out an old IR 750nm filter and took a few shots with the phone in the garden. It works! No IR blocker I'll be having aplay with this.
That's quite surprising - I'd've thought IR proof filters were pretty much universal these day... Does look to be very effective thought.
Here are two photographs taken on my phone. The first is without the filter (it's 760nm not 750nm as I posted earlier!) and the second one with the filter and then converted to B&W (on the phone) (Apologies for BIG pictures) I'm really impressed with it
