Smartphone IR

    I was in the water meadows the other day taking a few photos with my phone (Samsung A71) and I thought to myself, "I wonder if the camera in the phone has an IR blocker built-in?"

    So today I just dug out an old IR 750nm filter and took a few shots with the phone in the garden. It works! No IR blocker

    I'll be having aplay with this.

    That's quite surprising - I'd've thought IR proof filters were pretty much universal these day...:eek:

    Does look to be very effective thought.

    Here are two photographs taken on my phone.

    The first is without the filter (it's 760nm not 750nm as I posted earlier!) and the second one with the filter and then converted to B&W (on the phone)
