Why is no-one telling me what topping to have on my pancake?

At a guess, lemon juice and sugar?

Just hope it isn't @LesleySM giving advice. It would be something like curried hotdog with boiled new potatoes and vanilla ice cream or some other weird combo.;)

For fat pancakes as opposed to crepes, I used to love crispy bacon and maple syrup. Was introduced to that combo in Mexico about 40 years ago and loved it.
For crepes I prefer a sweet filling, say, strawberry jam and with icecream. Or when my teeth could take it, warmed syrup.

You are talking about my late hubby's preference. It wasn't my own preference! I just imagined MickLL as a traditional topping man.

As kids we used to have just lemon juice (jif) and sugar on pancakes and also on Yorkshire puddings as a dessert after a Sunday roast.

If we were lucky it might have been golden syrup

Just remembered. I used to sometimes have them with caramelised bananas. Tasy!

Nothing, as I won't be having pancakes on account of me not liking them and being an atheist.

Is it a religious thing then? I just thought it was like Easter and Christmas and nothing to do with religion.:)

I used to like pancakes with Nutella - since switching to a vegan diet I cannot have either (alternatives are available for pancakes, but the vegan 'nutella' I've tried was shite).

Having tried Nutella, I’d say it’s highly likely to be in the non vegan version too. Vile stuff.

Nutella is largely sugar, why anyone would eat it is beyond me.

Lower in sugar than the sugar most people have on pancakes.
