I keep a tiny Ixus 70 on my belt at all times. You never know when you'll see something you like...

Compacts are great for capturing details, while you're out and about, like an unexpected (but welcome) new message to dog owners, in the park...

Must get myself down there one of these days.....probably not all that much further than Dalbeattie for me now I think about it. Trouble is driving past Glentress to get to somewhere else!

Shame this bit of Glentress isn't there any more though....

That route up high street has a lot of walking at the start. The first time I did I forgot my cycling shoes it was not that much fun doing it in trainers with spd pedals.
I need to get out and ride I think I am getting old and lazy.

Those are some cool shots from Glentress.

This was taken about 6 years ago with a Panasonic LS2. I like this camera, but it now has a 'burn' mark on the sensor. Annoying.

This fat squirral was taken a few months ago with a Canon Powershot A1400, on quite a bit of zoom and through a window.

Looks like I'm not the only fan of sweep panoramic modes....

Ben Lomond....could have looked around for a better view but wanted to get moving again to avoid traffic on the way down.

Always carry your compact, you never know when a robin will serenade you. This is from a Panasonic TZ40 and I was something like thirty feet from the birdie...
