After the debate about magazine content here http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?118746-Compact-Digital-Cameras
Please do not continue that debate here.

I was thinking about my comact cmera and shot I have taken with it. Then I had an idea about seeing what others have done with thier compact camera including film.

So what have you shot with a compact camera and what camera is it.

    I will start with this

A concert shot with my Olympus XZ-1

I'm a big fan of compacts. If it had a wee EVF the Pentax Q would be top of my shopping list. :)

Here are a couple from an ageing Nikon Coolpix S640 (no pretence at being a 'serious' compact):

And a couple from a little Samsumg PL90 (even more basic):

An old one from me then......but it's not Danny Macaskill riding the ridge it's my mate Matty back in about '02

(see http://youtu.be/xQ_IQS3VKjA or iplayer for why I'm posting that one)

Mostly I just use my compact for scenes that catch my eye when out and about....

....and the odd bit of silliness...

Nice shots and the bit of silliness is well done.

Here is another from my XZ-1 from January in Kielder forest when on a Scout Camp.

Does a Pen E-P1 count as a compact? (it's the smallest camera I have) but if it does I have always been very fond of this mage

Excellent! It just goes to show that the best camera in the world is always the one you have with you.

Thanks Roger. That was taken with my first digital compact - about 2mp if I remember correctly. Loved that little camera. It was so well behaved and took the picture I wanted and saw! Great little lens. That Helleborus picture is in a book in America on flowers around the World. It did well. :)

The Pen and the Pentax Q (also including any CSC) are system cameras not compacts cameras IMO.
The Vito IIIa I am unsure about about really.

Forgot to say my earlier pics were from a cheap Canon APS compact with a fixed lens and a Casio EX-S770 which I still miss for the screen that worked in sunlight and lack of shutter lag.

    Few more from the Casio...

I love compact cameras and use them a lot, especially when out travelling... For some reason Flickr calls my Fuji bridge camera a compact, though I'm not really sure it is... (a Finepix s8000fd).

Recently, though, I've been messing around with an old Casio point-and-shooter which has a view finder, so I'm a huge fan!

Here are a few random shots taken with "proper" compact cameras (i.e. not bridge and not posh). I tend to have one in my pocket all the time.

Kodak No 0 box camera (no 100 on AP's list of the 100 greatest cameras of all time) - when I bought it, it still had a roll of *C41* Kodacolor in it so someone had been using it still post-1974!

It's really, really tiny - it's not much bigger sideways than a Canon G-series.
