I've been spending a lot of time at the coast and have been shooting minimal seascapes as the sea has been so calm recently. Here are a few that I'm happy with. seascape1 by Dan, on Flickr seascape6 by Dan, on Flickr seascape5 by Dan, on Flickr seascape7 by Dan, on Flickr two in the corner by Dan, on Flickr ripple by Dan, on Flickr bobbing heads by Dan, on Flickr
That sort of thing is not only very pleasant and restful but quite marketable if you can find the right outlet. I especially like the first three. Would you be prepared for them to be part of the décor as opposed to being individual works of art? They are very good. Edit Oops. This is exhibition isn't it. For a moment I thought that I was in the critique thread. Well I won't delete what I wrote because I was at least appreciative.
Thanks very much All those were taken after the crowds had gone Pete, only few people were left, but just enough to get them in some of the shots. All taken in Walton too.
Lordy, haven't been to Water on the Nose since... oooh, about 1981! I like all of them, but I really love the abstractness of the first three.
Thanks everyone. The sea has been the calmest I have ever seen it recently, a couple of days it's been like glass out there.
Pembrokeshire coastal view from May 2014. I've never had this printed, but it's a very restful PC desktop image.
I love abstract and/or impressionist seascapes. In fact they're possibly my favourite type of picture, which will probably come as no surprise as a fan of Turner's paintings.
