    To all,

My Pentax rep came around with the MZ-6 which is Pentax's newest
entry into the 35mm SLR wars.

It's is based on the MZ-7 design with some of the MZ-5N's features,
such as, DOF, Wide/Spot focus, AEB, 1/4000, 1/125 sync, and 14 Custom
Pentax Functions which include: leader in/out, Spot meter and more that
    I cannot remember.
But, no, there is NO Vertical Grip available, just the usual AA battery
grip like the rest of the (usual) MZ cameras.

Price should be retailing around $^@(.)) or $629.00 in CDN dollars,
as a kit (including lens). I suspect that the Lens included will be
the FA28-80 although I saw it with the FA 24-90 lens.

And, should be available in January 2002, at least in Canada.

Hope you all have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.

Yuck, I hate replying to my own post.

It's so demeaning, you know, so NikoCanoOlymMinoesque.

Sorry let me pretend you have some friends and reply to you!

Seriously, not much to say on the MZ-6 till we see it. Looks very promising though, everything from the MZ-5N and MZ-7 all in one tantalising package. At the intended price it looks to be another Pentax bargain of the year! Its specs are soo good that I would say there are now only three Pentax AF cameras. The MZ-S, the MZ-6, and the Z1P. All the others are soo close to the MZ-6 in price that there is little point settling for anything less, and the Z1P has been discontinued, So its megabucks MZ-S for pro-build or MZ-6 for super bargain!
