I took that photo about this time of year, so maybe available now. I can post some up to you if they are there next time I visit the shop if you like.
That's very kind of you, but it's OK. I was just wondering about them, for some weird reason. I actually don't like the enormous purple ones so I was just wondering how different the white ones were.
Steppish-granddaughter has just applied for a scholarship to Chetham's school for next year. Her older brother got one starting this year. This was one of the pieces she played for the ?audition.. S
In fact, I ate in there when they provided some meals for us during an incident. I think it must have been the IRA bomb in 1996. I was on point near to there and the Corn Exchange.
I was young once. In fact it was when I worked at Ilford. One of the women was leaving and we went to a pub dressed up as a surprise for her during a Friday lunch!
How can you dislike something so devoid of taste. I neither like or dislike. I just treat with disdain.
It depends how it is cooked and in what. Baba Ganoush wouldn't be the same without it. With aubergine it can be the texture that is off-putting.
Encouraging. Have you got a recording of her playing a real piano in a room with a livelier acoustic. I don't mean a huge Steinway concert grand in an intimidating concert hall, but just something to allow her to express her musical self. I got the feeling that she was being stifled by the room and instrument. Also maybe by an over practised audition piece.
'Fraid not. Bear in mind that this is for a scholarship worth about £33,000 pa for the next eight years, she may have been a touch nervous. In general, her playing is less mechanical than her brother's, and he got through. And she is only seven. S
As I wrote. Encouraging. I was not criticising her. Just commenting that the instrument, room, and very practised piece made me feel that we did not hear her at her best.
