Nice. Always good for a Brit to win. But I'm not really into horse or motor racing.

Good. The Giro is a cycling event.

Thanks for that. Are we free from drugs now? I do hope so. Cycling didn't do us much good for our reputation did it?

My football team reaping the rewards of loyalty. Exactly 12 months ago they were bottom of the league, 6 points adrift, and lost 9-0 to Leicester City, but they stuck by the manager.

I thought that Leicester City played soccer. 9-0 is a rugger loss.

Ajax posted a 13-0 win in the Dutch top flight this weekend.

Well it was naive to expect I'd get to watch the highlights without hearing somewhere first.

A similar tally of falling over like he'd been shot by a sniper by Dusan Tadic as well, no doubt.

He seems to stay on his feet pretty well these days. Captain too.

    RovingMike Crucifixion's a doddle...

I played in a 13:1 once. Only topic of conversation after was how our goalie managed to let one in.

I played in a 20(twenty)-1 game as a youth, if we hadn't scored first we might have got away much lighter.
Also played in a 19-0 a fortnight later, funnily(!) enough against the same team...

Callus a lot less now. Visiting chiropodist did a good job.

I have dug far more of my allotment today than I expected given how soggy it is (having spread a considerable quantity of manure on it yesterday, and it having rained yesterday evening I am now all too familiar with the phrase "slippery as s**t"), and treated myself to a walk round Port Meadow to look at the dickie birds to give my back a break.

I'll probably ache like hell tomorrow, but that's another day.

Tier 3 from Thursday...no Halloween callers and hopefully fewer fireworks...having said that I have a few ideas for this year's bonfire sitters...

I hate to think of you missing them. Here's some Scottish guisers for you for Halloween.
