rangefinder alignment

    I've got a Fed 5b and it's developed a vertical misaligment. I suspect it's taken a knock (my own fault, it feels like a brick and can sometime get treated like one). I don't want to spend a lot on a professional repair given the cost of the camera or a replacement.

    Can anyone recommend;

    a) a cheap repairer (in the Leeds / Bradford area ideally)

    b) attempting to fix it myself (or is this a foolish idea?)

    Any advice, help, recommended websites or books gratefully received. I'd really like to fix it as it's fun to use and the results are suprisingly good.

    Thanks in advance

    I really don't think rangefinder realignment is a realistic DIY proposition as sophisticated optical equipment would be required. I also doubt if repair would be economically viable as Global Cameras are selling 'New' Fed 5b's at £42.50 including lens and case.
    I suspect a repair would cost at least this much.
    Their telephone number is 020 8427 7492. As specialists in Russian/Soviet equipment they will no doubt be able to quote for the cost of a repair.
