Dangerous, I'll say so   Have you ever tried to get a Grizzly to sign a
model release ?  Their paws are always shredding the paper  and then, of course, they always
want more salmon than I have  but they finally gave in when I told them they would be seen in old blighty

    hi ya david,

The most frightening thing we have over here is Gordon Brown! :D :D I'm not sure if he eats salmon though? He certainly chewed his way through my pension fund! :(

    Hi David,

Gordon Brown - the expletive deleted x 2 -- make him fly (you) over here and pay
for your new Pentax gear  and, ells bells, I'll throw in a small packet of smoked
    salmon

    no problem!

may i ask what mm zoom you were using??

i'm looking at buying something like a 400mm or 500mm when i get to Vancouver.. simply because i would love to photograph the animals behaving naturally.. which means not getting too close!

    Hi Sammy,

If memory serves, I was using my old FA 28-200 lenses and probably did some cropping  and
this was done at Grouse Mountain -- Click for Grouse Mountain - Summer time and Click for Grouse Mountain - Winter time -- which
is in North Vancouver and, if driving from Vancouver, is between 45 minutes (city) driving but not
including the "tram ride up" :)

    Cheers,

    Jack

    Some nice shots there SV.

Hello Jack, I have just gome totally mad and bought myself the Sigma 100-300 f/4 and the 1.4x converter. Now I have 630mm equivalent on the K10D for photographing birds (feathered variety!) along the Norfolk shoreline at Wells.

Looking forward to some shots of the flocks migrating in September!

    Hi David,

Mad .... perhaps a tiny bit but you definitely picked up some good kit there and the
only (possible) problem I can see down the road ..... is when they bring out the DA 60-250
and DA 1.4X as a combo next month for (the equivalent of) £350 BUT only in Vancouver :D

Cheers and looking forward to seeing some pics from your new babies :)

    Hi David,

Sadly, you're right as rain  ... although with the amount we (collectively) get
I don't see how it can be right :(

    Cheers,

    Jack
