I am asking this on behalf of a friend who is a Pole andspeaks very little English.
He recently purchased a Panasonic G Vario 35-100mm f4-5.6 lens from E-bay,where it was being sold as new by a Taiwan based E-bay seller dealing through awarehouse in London. When the lens arrived, it indeed appeared new but there is a persistent rattle fromwithin the lens body even with gentle movement. This rattle does not disappearwhen the lens is fixed to a camera. Also, the collapsing barrel has a bit of play from side to side, unlike theOlympus Zuiko 14-42mm f3.5 – 5.6, which is also collapsing zoom but without anyproblem.
The lens appears to work OK.
What we want to know is whether this rattle and play arenormal for the Panasonic 35-100mm f4-5.6 lens or is the one my friend orderedfaulty?

Can't comment on the 35-100mm but the 14-100mm does 'rattle' although there is no 'slap' in the barrel.
