My local art supplier is doing bargain prices on mounted canvasses (i.e. stretched and stappled to a wooden frame). Can anyone suggest any techniques which would enable me to put a photograph on one? I suppose some sort of transfer is the answer, but I can't think how.

 

Coat with liquid emulsion and print on to it in the darkroom?

 

Yes, I wondered about something like that. Any options that don't involve a darkroom? (I don't have one).

 

Most high street print shops together with those on the internet will print your photographs onto canvas or transfers or you can buy the media and do it yourself. Transfers tend to be quite small.

I can't really see the point of buying canvases on stretchers and then transfering the image. Why not just print on canvas and then put it on a frame?

 

Yes, I take your point. I just happened to see these canvasses at a bargain price and wondered if I could use them.
