Based on thoughts engendered by one of my flower pictures, though they were semi-deliberate. I suppose that this could be a controversial theme but, anyway, photos of yours that have been obviously, though preferably unconsciously, influenced by a 'known' photographer. I shall have a leaf through my own for any that jump out at me, until then... Go for it!
Not controversial. Interesting to see what gets posted. I somehow doubt I'll recognise any names, I couldn't recognise a picture as "by someone" unless perhaps if it were one of the half-a-dozen or so truly "famous" pictures, like Afghan girl, and at this time of writing I can't remember who took that.
Karl Blossfeldt (b.1865 - d.1932). A German photographer who specialised in Flower Photography. I have several of his books and lucky enough to own a original print. Here's a link to some of his work - http://www.karlblossfeldtphotos.com/ And a photo:
Not fair to leave you wondering about this one. You should know it was inspired by Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, also Diaghilev and Picasso's crazy scenery that Diaghilev used. All wrapped up in my imagination. If I had been more subtle with colouring, it could also be influenced by Degas.
Yes, I can honestly say I am still influenced by her work. I must also say that initially I thought this must be easy - just out of focus scenes. Then I tried to get the right scene, and the right exposure and the right composition and the best way to display it - and realised how talented she is!
