    Mk1 Cortina was my 3rd car, first ws an early 1950s 8, followed by a 100E estate, then the Cortina, 10 days after they hit the streets, I had all marks of Cortina except the Mk3, plus Mk2 Consuls, Classic, Corsair, Zephyr 3 and 4, Capri, Mk3 Escort & Fiesta; father was Stores manager for the locl Ford main dealer!

    Not once you've driven one: eratic steering, an accelerator pedal that worked according to some weird formula otherwise unknown to mankind and then there were the brakes - well, if you were lucky there were brakes but I wasn't quite that lucky... :confused:
