Especially the Bridge over Brann on a misty (or rainy) autumn morning.

I feel a road trip coming on. My dad used to take us on holiday to some log cabins in Dunkeld every summer and there was always an obligatory trip to the Hermitage, as well as the Pass of Killiecrankie and Queen's View in Pitlochry. I haven't been back in ages but loved that whole area.

Yes. An area North of Ullapool called Coigach. For me it is the Highlands in compact form. Mountains, lochs, beaches and wild places to roam.

Thanks for that. I like the ridges of Wester Ross but now I am not fit enough to properly enjoy them. Coigach seems interesting for an ageing hill walker and former scrambler of mountains.

Don't know the last one but three good choices. Skye's my go-back-to place for sure.

Grasmere and Rydal Water - my favourite part of the Lake District.

Venice, although I can't afford to get there very often.

History Live - English Heritage's major annual event with lots of re-enactments and encampments.

Lots, actually; several have already been mentioned, but throw in Barcelona, New York, just about anywhere in Italy that I've ever been - well, lots of places.

But for sheer number of visits, Kenilworth Castle has to be the place.

I think you would love it. Once you are on that little peninsula of land, it's like being in a different world.

The Thames around Oxford. Having it nearly in the downstairs flat in a wet winter helps, mind, it's that close!

Best around dawn when misty... covers many of my photographic failings!

    Three in London I'm repeatedly drawn to;

Denmark Street: home of the British music business for well over 50 years and still atmospheric and evocative of its history, but now sadly under threat of "redevelopment".

Hoxton, Shoreditch and Brick Lane, although avoiding the whole area on a Friday or Saturday night: almost endless opportunities for street photography.

Maryon Park in Charlton: location for several key scenes in the seminal 1966 film Blow-Up and remarkably unchanged since, I've tried many times to capture still images that catch the atmosphere the same way but have yet to nail it.

I tend to go to annual events rather the places, on a repeat basis.
Though some places are events in them selves, such as london street markets.

a particular part of waterfall country in the Brecon Beacons
    Bracelet Bay / Mumbles Head
the lower reaches of the Brecon Beacons in the upper Swansea Valley

I just think that one day I'll get a decent photo

A small mound on the common a few paces from my door. The subtle changes of light and seasons have made for an enlightening series and it is not far to go.
