Not talking about the stalking of celebrities here i`m talking about the Sky At Night. Does anybody do this as a hobby ? If so are there any books you can buy on the subject ? Do you need special lenses for this type of photography ? Cheers

The new Pentax MZ-60 is pretty good for this - it has a 32 MINUTE shutter speed!!! (Just about all it is good at according to Damien though!)

Why would you need that? For photographing stars without light trails appearing the exposure should be no longer than 30 secs. For those great circluar light trail star pics a mechanical camera with a B or T setting is the business.

Ive done a bit of this, left the camera in the garden with a 50mm lens on for about 20 minutes, got a nice portrait of orion with the blurred movement of the clouds. If you can find the north star you get a swirly effect as the other starts rotate around it.
