We often throw brickbats but this is the opposite.

I phoned yesterday to confirm that they had something in stock. A charming lady said that they had just one.

I ordered it just after lunch. It arrived, beautifully packed, at 10am this morning.

They have even updated their website to show 'out of stock'.

    Well done Park Cameras.

I've always found Park to be excellent, Mick, with them 'going the extra mile' on every occasion that I've either asked in the showroom for something out of the ordinary or asked for something over the phone - even mundane or low value items.

    Well done to them!!

Presumably they have managed to survive in a business where so many others have failed as they realise that customers and recommendations from satisfied customers are one important element of the operation. Some of the photographic retailers who have closed or are in severe difficulties have manifestly failed in this quarter.

I too have had a lot of positive experiences with this company. I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the last few years.

On a couple of occasions, I've ordered after 5pm and once nearly 6pm and the item arrived next morning! I also left my specs in their shop just before Christmas. I called and explained to them that I suspected they were in the showroom and the woman went and found them. When I told them I lived about 50 miles away they posted them all nicely packed and secure and they arrived by van two days later. Can't really knock that kind of help!

I only know Park Cameras from their adverts, and as they don't do that much used equipment, I've not yet used their services. I wonder if the good quality of service reported by the rest of you is connected with their business/share status - i.e. are they listed on the Stock Exchange?

    Just a thought...

    Yup, nice firm.

I had a rather different experience (or three) with them.

They are far too small to have a Stock Exchange listing and their legal status is a private company rather than a public one. AFAIK, the only listed specialist photographic retailers were Dixons, who are still listed, but not realy a photographic retailer now, and Jessops who are not longer listed.

Never used them (I worship at the Temple of Nikon AKA Grays- who also give fantastic service) but reviews like this mean I'll certainly bear them in mind should I need some thing elsewhere? Are they the people from Burgess Hill?

Good service and reasonable prices so far with me.
