Panasonic DMC-FZ1000 versus Nikon P100

I recently bought the FZ1000 having had the Nikon P100 for several years.
I am not sure whether something is wrong or is it just me. There is definite lag after each click before the next photo could be taken.
    The Nikon is much faster.
Have I set it up wrong?

First thing that springs to mind is that the Panny is twice the pixel count so you are dealing with much larger file sizes - you may need a faster card.

Check also to see what processing options are on - things like noise reduction can slow down processing which can tie the camera up a bit.

Thank you. I have bought a UHS-3 SDXC Transcend 64GB card.
However, am not sure abt the noise reduction. Will check.

Thanks for that vote of confidence. I contacted Wex and they asked me to send it back for a check-up. So I did. They said there was nothing wrong. There is no lag after clicking. So they concluded it was my SD card.
I shall try another SD card when I get it back.
I am using a Transcend 64GB SDXC Class 10 UHS 3. So maybe I got a dud SD card?

I always use Sandisk Extreme class 10, never any problem even on burst.
