I agree, in ideal conditions they are very good. But 'DSLR quality' should mean Nikon D850 not a Kodak DCS-100.
Interesting, I’m self employed, contracted to provide ‘Ranger’ services to a charitable trust and I have total autonomy over my own hours. If I put myself off duty for a photo opportunity, that would cover it, but I don’t think the problem would ever arise in any event.
As far as the quality of pics coming from my GoPro, I’ve had some cracking images over the years, but nowhere near DSLR quality and that stops me going much more than A4 size, especially when I get a bit of spray or salt on the lens.
A very wise piece of advice from Kevin MacDonnell, which seems appropriate here: "You should never allow the pursuit of 'quality' to prevent you getting the picture you want".
