As there are some remembrances of the 1999 Total eclipse, here are two of my (mostly cloudy) shots of it. Poorly scanned - I must find the negs!)

    That's all we saw...

The rushing of the darkness was amazing

Apologies for the very poor quality (scanned from a print a long time ago). This was taken from a vantage point near Newquay in August 1999. Without wanting to gloat, we saw the whole show. :D The cloud broke about 2 minutes before totality and then re-covered about 5 minutes afterwards. Awesome sight.... amazing. I have to admit I gave up taking pictures as it was distracting me from the spectacle.

Nikon F801s with Sigma 100-300mm APO (at 300mm of course!) - I forget the film used and I bracketed like mad so exposure information could be anything!

I had a similar experience except that here the cloud broke up shortly before the transit started......

This old eclipse was from 1979, I posted the story in the forum but looks like it belongs here.
It's not a great shot but it was a wonderful experience.

I like all 3 of those first shots, that light cloud gives an eerie feel to them.
