I thought this, from Olympus, was bad enough.

Now we have this for people to spend money on!

I wonder if you can get them in the same wood...

"This kit of soft release button and hot shoe cover fits perfectly to you PEN‑F. Soft release button and hot shoe cover are made and paired by hand to ensure a perfect match. As it is made of real wood it will continue to grow darker and richter with age."

    Won't that introduce camera-shake?

Depends which Richter - may make your pictures more visually artistic or possibly give them a musical feel! ;)

And as for growing darker, well, it would - as it absorbs your skin oils and dirt...

I paid £1 for my soft touch button out of a junk box. And it's metal instead of ratty old wood.

I'll think you'll find I can. Even at my age ;)

Well, I suppose these add-ons might save various species of woodworm ...

Then again, made by a leading Swiss manufacturer of gun stocks. Ain't gonna be cheap! Ever handled one?

Can anyone ID the camera? The battery door looks a bit like my AE1 but I can't be sure

My daughter bought it in Italy for me for fathers day this year. She carried it around in her rucksack for over a week.

    Will this help?

Well yeah, it's an AV-1, the aperture-priority only model. Looks like the 24-85 zoom on it, but I've no idea what those switches at the end of the lens hood are supposed to be.

I think they are just toggles to allow you to take out a little cap in the cap [?]. I've got something similar in one of the Pentax hoods.

Yes I have, at the Birmingham NEC a few years ago, where Linhof Studio had a couple of 12's, in its WA and TC variants. The standard of engineering and attention to detail on these cameras is stunning and was surprised how compact they were.
