Nikon D7200 soft image problem

    The sharpest bit is the watch strap which suggests either, that continuous focus was used or Garry accidentally refocused there. If the file straight out of the camera is soft it might be a camera setting. Shooting some raw files would reveal whether that is the .

    One can guess forever! Continuous AF - maybe but it is usually quite robust for static subjects unless the AF point jumped to movement on the arm. Another one is remapping AEL to AF lock so you think that exposure is locked but it is focus instead. I found on my 5Ds I could map a button to permanent AF lock - it stays there until the button is pressed again - can be useful but is very dangerous!

    Yes I think Nikon offers that option, but I don’t use it.

    I suspect five minutes with the camera would be more useful than hours of online chat.
