I want to reuse my old [ bought new ] Nat Pan 5650 flashgun with my Nikon f and f 2 bodies, but the 12 volt nicad battery pack could do with a freshing up if you know what I mean. Finding "D" size batteries to pricey and the 8 rechargeable "D" size cells will only give 9.6 volt...and I don't know if it would work. Need a contact to refurbish for me please.

You won't get Ni-Cd cells so it will need to be either Ni-Mh or Li-Ion, you need 10 1.2V Ni-Mh cells or three 3.7V Li-Ion cells. In either case you will probably need a new charger as, although both types use constant current charging the Ni-Mh can charge at a higher current and Li-Ion cells need additional protective circuits. Unfortunately I can't suggest anywhere to send them as most people I know who have recelled batteries have done it themselves.
