You'll want to check the official government advice. The UK government is a little ambivalent: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/namibia
Fabulous, safe, ghost town, highest sand dunes in the world, seal colonies, Entosha national park you only need a 300mm lens the animals are so close, people lovely, friendly, safeexcept for capital city too many thieves
Yes, but I hoped my reply would encourage others to go it truly is a wonderful country, fabulous varied sceneryand the wildlife is amazing
probably the cheapest way to go on Safari, self drive the rest of the country is almost straight gravel roads with very little traffic, I will post a few photos taken there later today , save up and go you will not regret it
Have you been? Entosha NP all day at a water hole all on our own, drive all day and pass 3 cars look at the photos of Dead Vlei how many people do you see?Compared to all Safaris I have talked about Entosha was the quietest place in Africa
I would have liked to visit it to see the shipwrecks. I have sailed close down that coast, so have seen it through binoculars, but didn't see any wrecks at all. Closest I have been on land was Walvis Bay, but we only stayed a few hours. Here is a link to some of the wrecks; http://www.namibiatourism.com.na/blog/Three-Shipwrecks-on-Namibia-s-Skeleton-Coast Bob
