After five years I have finally pressed the video recording button on my 5D2. A newly developed interest in astronomy photography or imaging as it seems to be called, has prompted consideration of 'Lucky Frames'. i.e. A process of taking videos of a chosen target and then extracting and stacking the best frames. To get decent sized images of some targets cropped frame video is recommended. The 5D2 does not have the facility but I am lead to understand from the StarGazer forum that 5X recording is possible with Magic Lantern loaded on to the camera.

I wonder if there are any members of the AP forum: 1) who have any experience of using Magic Lantern and 2) can confirm that it can be used to, in effect, magnify the video of, for example, a planet.

    Thanks in advance - John
